Action on Smoking & Health (ASH) is Western Canada's leading tobacco control agency. ASH's leadership on the tobacco issue has helped to shape local, provincial, and national strategies to reduce tobacco use. ASH has attracted national and international recognition for its initiatives which have included public education, policy development , and advocacy for:

  • the creation of more smoke-free indoor spaces;
  • the reduction of youths' access to tobacco products;
  • curbs on tobacco advertising and promotion; and
  • increased public awareness of tobacco industry tactics.

ASH is a registered charitable society headquartered in Edmonton with approximately 300 members throughout Alberta.
